Is it our leadership? Why do some countries have ample Coronavirus Test kits and we don't?
Let's face it, a lack of proactive testing is a major concern for public health experts in the USA since before Covid-19 even arrived. Without wide testing, it’s impossible to detect and gauge the spread of the contagion in the community. We in Hawaii can't get a handle on the spread of this disease until this problem is solved.
There should be ample test kits available as needed and Hawaiian communities should be testing individuals proactively, which has uncovered cases of suspected community transmission in Washington state. Federal health officials need to deliver “point of care” testing, which gives local physicians and hospitals the ability to test on-site.
Here is a hint about why we are in such deep poo-poo. Go to the links below to get an idea of what our present national leadership is like in this crisis:
"Trump spent a visit to the CDC misrepresenting the state of coronavirus testing, praising himself, and attacking his critics. Trump did little to help Americans understand the government’s response to the virus, instead spreading misinformation while using to public health crisis for self-aggrandizement. "
